ABOUT THE EVENT

Over 20 drag artists of British-Columbia are joining the movement of the virtual drag show fundraiser called Virtual Drag Show | Drag Show Virtuel! Drag artist Mina Mercury is excited to be hosting the West Coast Edition of the show on Monday, April 13th, 2020 at 6PM (Pacific Time) and 9PM (Eastern Time). Mina is thrilled to bring a diverse group of drag artists from Kelowna, the Greater Vancouver area and Victoria. The show will also bring in surprise guest appearances from International drag superstars which will be announced closer to the date of the show.

Started and created in Montreal by Rita Baga, the " Virtual Drag show " formula is a collective of drag that offers you a performance in the style of a music video recorded from their home or a performance recorded prior to the pandemic. The show works under the " telethon " principle and the audience is welcomed to make a donation on a Go Fund Me account. The drag artists in the show share the income equally. Incomes from virtual performances currently represent the only return of money for the moment for our local drag artists. The Virtual Drag Show | Drag Show Virtuel has aired so far from Montreal, Quebec City and Paris (France) and it has raised over $20 000 in revenues for the artists involved.

Mina is proud and excited to host the West Coast edition of the Virtual Drag Show | Drag Show Virtuel.

Born in Victoria BC, Mina has been a drag artist based in Vancouver BC for over 25 years. Mina is known for her impersonations (Freddie Mercury, Madonna, Pink), her diverse drag performances and recently her events Kids N’ Queens which are now available online.

Mina’s debut album is coming soon and her singles “In My Room” and “Jet Boy Jet Girl” are now available for streaming on all major platforms.

Mina has performed in many cities across British-Columbia and across Canada and she is excited to showcase the diversity of the amazing drag artistry that the Canadian West Coast has to offer!
